Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed on Monday the latest regional developments, particularly in Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian territories, and bilateral relations, the official SANA news agency reported.

The two leaders stressed to continue consultation and coordination between the two countries to contribute to enhancing the Arab solidarity and the joint Arab action in order to achieve stability and security in the region.

Sheikh Khalifa also presented 100 million U.S. dollars as a gift to the Syrian people for building a hospital, the report said.

Sheikh Khalifa arrived here on Sunday for a two-day official visit which was part of a tour that will also take him to Algeria and France.
