Morocco's inaugural meeting with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) focusing on South-South cooperation opened here Monday, according to local press.

This meeting is devoted to the identification of key cooperation sectors, and formulation of an appropriate legal framework with CARICOM member states, with which Morocco is seeking to develop a cooperation partnership similar to the one it has with African countries.

This meeting also falls in the perspective of boosting and deepening friendship and cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Caribbean states.

Participants at this meeting are, among others, high ranking officials from the Caribbean countries, CARICOM secretariat officials, representatives from Spanish international cooperation general directorate, and experts from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), as well as senior Moroccan officials from various government departments.
