Japan's top negotiator Kenichiro Sasae arrived in Beijing Tuesday afternoon to participate in a meeting which gathers chief delegates to the six-party talks.

The discussion will focus on some substantial issues such as the disablement of nuclear facilities of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and its reports on all nuclear plans, Sasae told reporters after he arrived at a hotel.

He said the initial actions under the Feb. 13 agreement has achieved active progress. The Japanese side will stick with its consistent stance, policy and goal, and work for further progress.

The two-day meeting of the six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue is expected to start in Beijing on July 18, during which the chief delegates are expected to discuss issues related to the initial actions for denuclearization and explore arrangements of steps that will follow.
