At least one civilian was killed and four others injured in a car bomb blast at a parking lot near the Iranian embassy in central Baghdad on Tuesday, an Interior Ministry source said.

"A car bomb detonated at about 11:15 a.m. (0715 GMT) at a parking lot near the Iranian embassy in central Baghdad, killing at least a civilian and wounding four others," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Xinhua correspondent at the scene saw that several civilian vehicles caught fire by the blast and were put out later by fire engines, which rushed to the scene in no time.

The blast shattered windows of the nearby buildings and black smoke could be seen billowing over the area.
