Parliament Speaker of Portugal Jaime Gama is to visit Angola soon at the invitation of his Angolan counterpart Roberto de Almeida, a senior Portuguese diplomat has said.

Portuguese Ambassador to Angola Francisco Ribeiro Teles told reporters that he met with Angolan Parliament Speaker Roberto de Almeida on Monday, discussing matters relating to the visit.

"It was transmitted to the (Angola's) National Assembly speaker that the Portuguese speaker, Jaime Gama, would accept, with much pleasure and honor, to pay a visit to Angola as soon as possible," said the Portuguese diplomat.

Francisco Ribeiro Teles said bilateral talks are in progress to set the Portuguese Parliament speaker's visit date.

During the meeting, he added, they also analyzed the friendly cooperation between the two parliaments and relevant training programs.
