The death toll from a car bombing near the Iranian embassy in central Baghdad on Tuesday rose to four, an Interior Ministry source said. "The latest report said that four were killed and five others injured by the blast in the parking lot near the Iranian embassy," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Earlier, the source put the toll at one killed and four wounded. The blast set ablaze up to 12 nearby civilian vehicles, the source added.
Xinhua correspondent at the scene reported that the cars fire were put out later by fire engines, which rushed to the scene in no time. The blast shattered windows of the nearby buildings and black smoke could be seen billowing over the area.
