Algerian senate speaker Abdelkader Bensalah Tuesday held discussions with Sheikh Khalifa Ben Zayed Al- Nahyane, president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to the Algerian News Agency (APS).

The UAE president arrived Monday in the Algerian capital for a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

While speaking to the press on arrival at the Algiers International Airport, the president expressed his satisfaction with the level of relations between the two countries.

The visit will enable the two countries to review "the current situation in the Arab world as well as developments at both the regional and international levels," and discuss "efforts aimed at reinforcing the common Arab action," the president said.
