The Polish government will keep its commitments made during the EU Summit in Brussels in June with regard to the new Reform Treaty, Poland's Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski said in Warsaw Tuesday.
Kaczynski stressed that the final decision on the ratification of the Treaty rests with Poland's parliament, Polish PAP news agency reported.
Leaders of Poland's two junior coalition parties, which have decided to form a new party, oppose Poland's plans to ratify the new EU Treaty.
Head of the League of Polish Families (LPR) caucus Szymon Pawlowski told PAP on Tuesday that the LPR plans to "build a broad front of opposition to a new EU treaty."
The forthcoming Intergovernmental Conference planned on July 23 will work on the new Reform Treaty which aims to salvage the main elements of institutional reform heralded by the draft EU Constitution, following its rejection by voters in France and the Netherlands in 2005.
