Indonesian president asks to settle dispute on shoes company

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked Thursday to find out the best solution for the settlement of the dispute between thousand of Indonesian workers and the U.S. shoes company Nike Inc., according to Indonesian Industry Minister Fahmi Idris.

The president asked for speeding up the settlement by collecting data as many as possible, said Idris.

According to the minister, the president talked with a number of concerned parties to collect the right information, including some ministers, two local companies of the Naga Sakti Pharama Shoes Corp. and Hardaya Aneka Shoes Corps.

The minister said that there were already some options for the settlement and it will be delivered to the president next week.
