Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 27 suspected hard drug peddlers in the country's southwestern Niger State.
Malam Haruna Kwetishe, the state commander of the agency, said Saturday in the State capital Minna that 130kg of Indian hemp was seized during six weeks of raids carried out by the command.

Kwetishe said that other substances seized during the raids included 50 grams of psychotropic substances and some tubes of rubber solution.

He also said the command had successfully prosecuted nine cases at an Abuja Federal High Court and that those convicted were serving jail terms that ranged from six months to five years.
