A U.S. soldier was killed in a roadside bomb attack targeting his vehicle in Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Monday.
The attack took place on Saturday during combat operations in the Iraqi capital, a military statement said.
The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of relatives, it added.
The latest death brings the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq to more than 3,630 since the outbreak of the war in 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
