A bomb went off inside a minivan in downtown Baghdad on Monday, killing a civilian and wounded seven others, an Interior Ministry source said.
"An explosive charge inside a minivan detonated in the morning in the Kifah Street in Baghdad's neighborhood of Fadhel, killing a passenger and wounding seven more," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The Kifah thoroughfare in the Sunni enclave of Fadhel surrounded with Shiite neighborhoods has been the scene of sectarian violence.
Daily bombings, gun shootings and kidnappings continued in Baghdad despite a five-month-old U.S.-Iraqi security plan designed to put down insurgency and sectarian violence in the capital. Source: Xinhua
