The al-Qaida network said on Monday that it was planning attacks against "infidels" in North Africa and urged Muslims to stay away from possible targets.

"We call on all our Muslim brothers to stay away from the centers and gathering of infidels and apostates," al-Qaida's North African wing said in a statement.

It posted on an Islamist Website used by Islamist militant groups including al-Qaida.

The organization will launch attacks "with all means of detonation, bombing and demolition possible," said the statement.

However, the authenticity of the statement has not been verified yet.
