EC seeks human resources for conducting CA polls in Nepal |

Nepal's Election Commission (EC) has formally asked the Judicial Council and the Judicial Service Commission to provide necessary human resources for the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election on November 22. Chief Election Commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokharel on Tuesday met with Chief Justice Dilip Kumar Paudel and urged the judiciary to name a list of officials by mid-August so that the EC could deploy them across the country within the third week of August after providing them necessary training, an official at the EC said.
He also said the EC needs at least 240 officials from the legal/ judicial sector for appointment as chief returning officers and returning officers who will conduct the CA poll across the country, The Kathmandu Post reported Wednesday. According to the daily, 58 of the 62 political parties in Nepal have received recognition from the EC to contest in the CA poll, whereas three new political parties are yet to get recognition.
