Hundreds of children in more than one dozen southern Nepal villages inundated in the wake of incessant rainfalls are suffering from pneumonia and gastro- enteritis diseases, local leading media group's website eKantipur reported on Saturday.
Hospitals in district headquarters and other urban centers are facing influx of patients in Southern Nepal, mainly children suffering from pneumonia, other viral diseases and snake bites.
Dozens of children are suffering from cold, pneumonia and gastro-enteritis diseases. Victims complain that no health workers have arrived in the affected areas.
Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to avert the likely water- induced epidemic in flood-affected areas, an NMA statement issued on Saturday read.
