Polish President Lech Kaczynski told reporters on Sunday that there is no final decision on the future presence of Polish troops in Iraq.
"This depends on a number of circumstances, above all on the development of the situation (in Iraq) and on how our cooperation with the United States will develop," Polish PAP news agency quoted Kaczynski as saying.
On Saturday 110 Polish soldiers left for Iraq. Polish Defense Minister Aleksander Szczyglo taking part in the farewell ceremony said he is in favor of maintaining Poland's military presence in that country for the next year.
Szczyglo added that the final decision is to be made in early fall.
Currently, there are some 900 Polish soldiers in Iraq. At the end of last year, Polish President Lech Kaczynski approved extending the mission in Iraq to the end of 2007.
