The body of Bae Hyung-kyu, a South Korean hostage who was killed by Afghan kidnappers on July 25, was transported to the Incheon International Airport on Monday.

An Emirates flight carrying the body arrived at Incheon airport at around 5:00 p.m. local time (0800 GMT Monday).

No members of Bae's family showed up at the airport, South Korea 's Yonhap News Agency said.

Park Sang-eun, chief of Anyang hospital where the body is to be stored, assumed responsibility for the body at the airport. Local prosecutors said the postmortem examination of the body will be conducted after it has been stored in the hospital.

Bae's elder brother Bae Shin-kyu said earlier Monday that Bae's funeral will be held after all the 22 remaining hostages are freed.

Bae was killed by kidnappers in Afghanistan on July 25. He and 22 other South Koreans were kidnapped by Afghan militants on July 19.
