The Taliban has once again issued a deadline for 21 South Korean hostages, which would last until 12: 00 p.m. (0730 GMT) on Wednesday, a purported Taliban spokesman, Yousuf Ahmadi, said Tuesday.
Ahmadi told Xinhua through telephone from an undisclosed place that Taliban fighters would kill more hostages if their demands are not met.
He also said some hostages were in very bad condition, and they may die themselves.
This is the ninth time that Taliban militants have set a deadline for killing some hostages.
The Taliban has insisted on the exchange of Taliban prisoners for the hostages.
A total of 23 South Koreans were kidnapped by Taliban militants on a road in the central Ghazni province on July 19. One male hostage was killed by Taliban insurgents on July 25, and a second male hostage on July 30.
