Nine people were wounded in two roadside bomb attacks in Baghdad on Tuesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
"Six people were wounded when a roadside bomb went off at about 8:15 a.m. (0415 GMT) near an Iraqi Army vehicle in the 14th Ramadan Street in Baghdad's western neighborhood of Mansour," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Heavy gunfire immediately followed the blast between unknown gunmen and Iraqi soldiers, the source added.
Another makeshift bomb explosion missed a U.S. patrol in Baghdad al-Jadidah neighborhood in southeastern Baghdad in the morning, wounding three civilians, the source said.
Several nearby civilian cars and buildings slightly damaged by the blast, he added.
Daily bombings continued infesting Baghdad streets despite a more-than-five-month U.S. and Iraqi security plan aiming at putting rampant violence under control.
