French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner Tuesday condemned "in the strongest terms" the killing of a South Korean hostage in Afghanistan.

"I have learned about the killing of the second South Korean hostage by Talibans. I wish to express my horror to such a barbaric act. France condemns this appalling and unjustifiable act, which goes against universal moral values, in the strongest terms, " the minister affirmed in a statement.

"France conveys its sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, as well as to South Korean authorities and assure them of its support at this time of grief," the minister said, calling for the immediate release of all hostages held in Afghanistan.
