Three security members were killed and seven others wounded in a roadside bomb and gunfire in Baghdad on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
A roadside bomb went off in the afternoon near a police patrol near the Ma'moun communications tower in Baghdad's western neighborhood of Mansour," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The explosion damaged a police vehicle, killing a policeman and wounding seven others," the source said.
In separate incident, two off-duty Iraqi policemen were shot dead when gunmen ambushed their car in al-Saidiya neighborhood in southwestern Baghdad, the source added.
Meanwhile, a series of car bombs, including two suicide bombings, also detonated in Baghdad during the day, killing a total of 74 people and wounding more than 100 others.
Daily bombings and sectarian violence continued infesting Baghdad streets despite a more-than-five-month U.S. and Iraqi security plan aiming at putting rampant violence under control.
