Foreign ministers attending the 14th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum (ARF) Thursday welcomed the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency about the shutdown of the Yongbyon nuclear facility in the Democratic Poeple's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
In a statement issued at the close of the one-day ARF, Philippine Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo, who chaired the meeting, said the ministers also welcomed the announcement of the DPRK that it shall earnestly implement its commitment to completely dismantle all its nuclear faculties.
"The ministers reiterated their support for the Six-Party Talks and welcomed the agreements reached at the resumption of the latest round of talks held July 18-20 in Beijing," he said.
The ARF ministers, according to Romulo, stressed the importance of addressing the issue of humanitarian and people concerns of the international community on the situation in DPRK.
