A U.S. soldier was killed and three others were wounded during combat operations in Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday in western part of the Iraqi capital, the military said in a statement.
The name of the killed soldier is being withheld pending notification of the relatives, the statement added.
The latest death brings the number of U.S. soldiers that have been killed in Iraq to more than 3,660 since the Iraq war broke out in 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
