The Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Calderon Friday praised the 6,500- strong police security contingent for doing a good job in maintaining peace and order during the 40th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Ministerial Meeting and 14th ASEAN Regional Forum this week in Manila.
"The just-concluded event is another shining moment not only for the PNP but for the entire Filipino nation to showcase the Philippines and the ASEAN," Calderon said.
PNP officials said no major incident took place during the four- day sessions, during which foreign ministers and delegates from 28 ASEAN-members states and dialogue partner countries discussed political and economic cooperation with ASEAN and in East Asia, as well as security situation in the Asia-Pacific region.
