Zimbabwe to open new border post to neighboring country

A new border post is expected to be opened between Zimbabwe and Botswana, ZBC News reported on Friday.

The Zimbabwe chief immigration officer senior assistant commissioner Clemency Masango said the new post, named Mulambaphele Boarder Post, which is located between Plumtree and Mphoengs area is expected to be functional on the Oct. 1 this year.

The opening of the border post is expected to benefit locals from both Zimbabwe and Botswana who will be allowed to use passes instead of passports, he said.

Masango said the border post will be manned by the police before construction of infrastructure.
