Cyprus government has launched an Internet TV which is aimed at promoting the eastern Mediterranean island abroad.
By watching documentary films on the website, foreigners can get a basic knowledge of Cypriot life, the Cyprus problem and other aspects concerning Cyprus, Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou-Markoulli told foreign diplomats and media representatives on Friday.
Currently, the site hosts 30 documentaries in English, 17 in Greek, four in French and nine in other languages including Chinese, said Yiannakis Solomou, head of the Press and Information Office of Cyprus.
Visitors to the website of http://www.cyprusonfilm.com can have free access to selected documentaries in the categories of general, people, environment, history, political affairs, culture, economy and traditions.
"At a later stage, the site will host televised interviews of the President of the Republic, the Foreign Minister and other government officials," added Solomou.
