Four people, including a Spanish female tourist, were killed Saturday in a road accident in the Upper Egyptian city of Aswan, Egypt's official MENA news agency reported.
The accident occurred when a Misr Travel bus carrying 36 Spanish tourists collided with a trailer on the road linking Aswan and the southern tourist resort of Abu Simbel, killing four people and injuring five other Spanish tourists, MENA said.
Four of the wounded were rushed to Aswan Teaching Hospital for treatment and the fifth one, who was seriously injured, was flown to Nasser Institute Hospital in Cairo by air ambulance, said the report.
Aswan Governor Mostafa Youssef and security leadership rushed to the spot of the accident for inspection and investigation.
The rest of the tourists survived the collision and the Spanish embassy was notified of the accident, added the report.
