Angola has called for strengthening institutional capacities in Africa, Angola''s official news agency ANGOP quoted Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos as reporting on Saturday.
"Africa is exposed to great challenges in various domains," the Angolan prime minister addressed the closing ceremony of the Second Pan-African Forum on Institutional Capacity Building presided over by Mozambican Prime Minister Luisa Diogo on Friday in the Mozambican capital city Maputo.
He said it is about time that Africa takes control of its own destiny, invests in the reinforcement of its institutions by improving and better using human potential as well as material and financial resources.
"We African countries, therefore, must guarantee the constant and permanent improvement of human resources to avoid brain drain, so that with their knowledge and mastering of new technologies, they can contribute to the growth and sustainable development of our countries," Dos Santos added.
According to the prime minister, the political instability that was observed in some African countries has had a great influence on their socio-economic underdevelopment so the post- conflict challenges call for doubling efforts in the reconstruction of infrastructures and promotion of institutional capacity building that bring about high levels of sustained economic growth.
