Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika held private talks here Monday with his visiting Iranian counterpart Mohamoud Ahmadinejad, soon on his arrival in the Algerian capital, according to official sources.

The Iranian leader arrived Monday for a two-day state visit to Algeria.

During his visit, the Iranian president is expected to hold talks with various Algerian leaders on bilateral relations and their development prospects.

The two sides will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest.

Also on the agenda is a meeting between Algerian and Iranian businessmen, to review ways of reinforcing bilateral cooperation in economic and trade domains.
