Indonesian Attorney General Office failed to quiz former president Soeharto's son Hutomo Tommy Mandala Putra on corruption case on Tuesday.
Representing lawyer O.C. Kaligis said that his client could not come to the office due to his illness.
Tommy was allegedly implicated in a graft case valued at 170 billion rupiah (some 17 million U.S. dollars) through his monopoly facility on clove business, Deputy Attorney General for Special Criminal Actions Kemas Yahya Rahman said.
Another prosecutor Salman Maryadi has said that the youngest son of the former dictator Soeharto was suspected in the misuse of the funds from the Bank of Indonesia and collecting illegal funds from the sales of cloves since 1996.
Indonesia has been seriously combating chronic corruption since the leadership of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who took office in 2004.
Recently, the president has appointed a new attorney-general to instigate his campaign against corruption.
