A U.S. helicopter made a forced landing during an operation south of Baghdad early on Friday, wounding two soldiers aboard, a U.S. military said.
The helicopter made its forced landing in the town of Yousifiyah, some 20 km south of Baghdad, while supporting a planned mission in the area, the military said in a statement.
"Two U.S. Soldiers sustained non-life threatening injuries when the aircraft landed," the statement said.
The cause of the landing was not clear, it said, adding that the incident is currently under investigation.
"Security forces and close-air support immediately responded to the site, providing security for the forces and the downed aircraft," the military said.
