Most people are likely to vote in favor of the draft charter in the Aug. 19 referendum, according to a poll released by the official Thai News Agency.
The poll, conducted recently by the Chulalongkorn University's Political Science Faculty, found that 87 percent of 19,441 persons around the country surveyed are aware of the referendum while 13 percent are not, and some 68.5 percent will opt to vote while somewhat over 8 percent are likely to not vote.
Among the respondents who will opt to vote, 78 percent of them would vote in favour of the draft charter while 22 percent said they would reject the draft constitution.
Meanwhile, the number of voters undecided whether they would cast ballots in the referendum is as high as 23.2 percent, the report said on Friday.
The poll showed that 47 percent are satisfied with the substantial content of the draft charter while 17 percent are dissatisfied, and over one-third -- 35.7 percent -- have not yet read the draft constitution.
