A Hamas commander in West Bank appeared on the Palestinian official television on Saturday after conflicted reports about his case, and he admitted of helping Israel to kill five militants.
The confessions were aired a day after the supporters of Hamas movement took to the streets in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip to protest against alleged death of Mu'aied Bani Ouda by security services loyal to rival Fatah.
The main two factions of Hamas and Fatah have been exchanging kidnappings on every side's domain, the Fatah-run West Bank and the Gaza Strip which fell in Hamas' hands after mid-June fighting.
According to the tape, Ouda joined Hamas in 2001. Two years later, the Israeli intelligence recruited him as a spy after arresting him and implicating him in a sexual scandal that remained secret.
Ouda adds, in the recorded show that is dated Friday, that he guided the Israeli army to the hideaway of five Palestinian militant activists in West Bank, enabling the soldiers to kill them.
But Ouda's family insisted that Mu'aied had forcibly made the confessions as a result of torture he underwent since his capture by the Palestinian security on July 22.
Ahead of the broadcast, Hamas has issued a statement condemning the different reports that forces of President Mahmoud Abbas circulate over Ouda's condition.
The Hamas' statement has warned the security agencies against building pressure on Ouda and forcing him to claim responsibility on false incidents.
