An American soldier died in a non- combat related incident in Iraq, the U.S. military said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday, a military statement said without providing further details.
The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of the relatives, the statement added.
The latest death brings the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to 3,684 since the Iraq war broke out in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
