Chief Adviser of Bangladesh caretaker government Fakhruddin Ahmed on Tuesday brushed aside any fear or doubt about the country's parliament election, saying it will be held by December 2008.
There is no scope of any confusion about holding the general election by December 2008, the Chief Adviser said at western Raj shahi city while inaugurating the program of preparation of voter list with photographs and national identity card.
"The government wants to present the national a clean, credible and acceptable election and we are relentlessly working to make Bangladesh politics free of muscle power, black money and sin-free, " he said.
He said that in line with the roadmap of the election, the voter list will be completed by October next year. The Election Commission (EC) announced a roadmap for Bangladesh's stalled general election in mid July.
According to the roadmap, the general election would be held in late November or early December 2008.
Bangladesh constitution specifies that the general elections will be held within three months to be organized by a non-partisan caretaker government after elected government hands over power after the end of tenure.
