Kim Yong Nam, top legislator of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday sent a message of greeting to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of of the liberation of the Korean Peninsula.
In his message, Kim, President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, conveyed his good wishes to Putin and said: "The cooperative relations between the DPRK and the Russian Federation would develop in the spirit of the joint declarations."
The Korean Peninsula was liberated from Japanese colonial rule on Aug.15, 1945 with the help of Soviet Union Red Army.
