Palestinian children in Gaza Strip on Wednesday called on leaders of rival Hamas and Fatah movements to end their internal disputes and get back to dialogue.
The children, members of the Palestinian Young Journalist Club based in Gaza, told a news conference here that leaders of Fatah and Hamas "must break their infighting, get back to mind and reason and resume their dialogue."
"Disputes between the rival brothers should end in order to resolve all their internal problems and bring security back to the Gaza Strip," one of the children told reporters.
Disputes and differences, which promoted to violence and infighting in recent months, between Hamas movement and President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah movement, had led to a complete isolation of Gaza Strip from the West Bank.
Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip after its militants defeated Abbas security forces on June 14 this year. Abbas and his leadership moved to the West Bank city of Ramallah, sacked Hamas government and formed another one.
"We call on the leaders of Fatah and Hamas to avoid the children and their educational path from your internal differences and disputes," said another child in the news conference.
The children called on Israel to reopen closed crossings and terminals between Gaza and Israel on one hand, and between Gaza and Egypt on the other, adding "We are looking forward to live similar to other children in the world."
