The Chinese government Wednesday in Kathmandu donated 200,000 RMB yuan (26,400 U.S. dollars) to Nepali flood victims, according to a press release of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.
The donation, in the name of the Red Cross Society of China to the Nepal Red Cross Society, was handed over to Nepali Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan by Chinese ambassador to Nepal Zheng Xianglin.
The Chinese ambassador also announced that the government of China's Tibet Autonomous Region is also providing relief materials equivalent to 300,000 RMB yuan (39,600 dollars) to Nepal's flood- stricken areas, including tents, carpets, pure water and food.
Pradhan thanked the Chinese government for its support to the flood victims of Nepal despite its own suffering from the floods in the recent days.
