Eight people were wounded in two roadside bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital on Thursday, a well- informed police source said.
"A roadside bomb went off in the afternoon near a U.S. military patrol in Baghdad's eastern neighborhood of Zaiyounah, wounding five civilians," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
It was not known whether the U.S. patrol sustained any casualty or not as the troops sealed off the scene, according to the source.
The U.S. military had no immediate comment on the incident.
Earlier in the day, three people were wounded by another roadside bomb explosion near the al-Zawraa Park in west central Baghdad, the source added.
A car bomb also blew up at around 9:00 a.m. (0500 GMT) at a parking garage of a building near the al-Risafi Square in a central commercial area of Shorja, killing four people and wounding six others, the police said.
The blast caused a huge fire in the seven-story building and damaged more than 40 civilian cars in the garage, the police said.
Violence persists in Iraq as sectarian killings, suicide attacks, bombings, and abductions cause dozens of Iraqi casualties daily.
