Coach hits mountain, killing 3, injuring 18 in Vietnam

A coach carrying over 30 people crashed into a roadside mountain in Vietnam's northern Bac Can province since its brake failed, killing three local people and injuring 18 others, according to local newspaper Youth Friday.

The incident on Thursday made a woman passenger fall out of the coach, killing her on the spot. Two men passengers died in hospital due to serious injuries.

The coach's 27-year-old driver was injured slightly.

In the first half of this year, Vietnam faced 7,700 traffic accidents which claimed 6,900 lives and injured 5,900 people, posting respective year-on-year rises of 1.2 percent, 7.2 percent and 0.7 percent, according to the country's General Statistics Office.
