An aircraft carrying relief goods donated by the government of Pakistan to the flood-affected Chinese people on Friday departed for Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The 200,000 U.S. dollars worth of relief goods comprised 150 tents, 1,000 blankets, five tons of rice and some water purifying tablets.
In a ceremony held on Friday at the Pakistan Air Force base in Chaklala, which is located in northern Pakistan, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Riaz Mohammad Khan handed over the relief assistance goods to Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Luo Zhaohui.
Senior officials of the Chinese Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present on the occasion.
Floods, landslides and mudflows triggered by torrential rains caused widespread damage and affected the lives of many people in China.
