The Peruvian government on Sunday issued a decree to establish a 31.7 million-U.S. dollar fund designed to begin the infrastructure reconstruction in the quake-hit areas.
Peru will also create a Reconstruction Fund to obtain more resources from private and international donations.
An earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hit the southern region of Peru on Wednesday, leaving at least 510 people dead, 1,610 injured and 16,600 families homeless.
Also on Sunday Peruvian President Alan Garcia vowed to rebuild quake-shattered Pisco, which lost 85 percent of its houses in Wednesday's powerful earthquake.
Garcia told a news conference in Pisco that the government was preparing plans to rebuild the port city.
"We have many homes, fishermen's wharfs to rebuild," said the president.
