A top UN atomic watchdog official arrived in Tehran Monday for a third round of talks with Iranian negotiators over its disputed nuclear program, state media reported.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation led by its Deputy Director General Olli Heinonen will have talks with the deputy head of Iran's national security council Javad Vaeedi, according to Iran's state television.

Meanwhile, deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran for International Affairs Mohammad Saeedi was quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying that the third round of talks would be the "final round" to remove remaining ambiguities over Iran's nuclear program.

The upcoming round of talks between Iran and the IAEA, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, would be the last round "to set up a framework to settle the remaining issues," Saeedi said.

The first round of the Iran-IAEA talks was held on July 11 during which the two sides agreed on the IAEA inspectors' visit to Arak heavy water research reactor, IRNA said.

The second round was held in Vienna on July 24, in which the two parties set a date for the IAEA inspectors' visit to Arak facilities. The IAEA inspectors visited the Arak reactor on July 30.

In late June, in a meeting with the IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei in Vienna, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani invited a delegation from the IAEA to visit Iran and hold talks with Iranian officials over drawing an action plan to end the stalemate between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog.
