An American soldier died of non- combat related cause in the Iraqi capital, the U.S. military said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Sunday, a military statement said without providing further details, adding that an investigation was underway.
The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.
The latest death brings the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to more than 3,705 since the Iraq war broke out in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
