Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian militant in the West Bank city of Nablus in a predawn raid on Tuesday, witnesses and security sources said.
According to the sources, the Israeli army stormed Al-Ein refugee camp in the city, sparking clashes with Palestinian gunmen and leading to the death of Nasser Mabruk, 37, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
"Mabruk was hit with a bullet in the head during the fire exchange and died minutes later," said Dr. Ghassan Hamdan, a hospital official.
The troops withdrew from the city and the camp in the morning after arresting three members of Islamic Hamas movement.
