The death toll from the suicide car bomb attack in the town of Beiji in Salahudin province on Wednesday rose to 20, with 50 others wounded, a provincial police source said.
"Our latest reports said that 20 people were killed and up to 50 more were injured by the suicide car bomb attack," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
A suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden car into the entrance of the police headquarters in the town of Beiji, 200 km north of Baghdad, destroying parts of the headquarters along with several nearby buildings and civilian cars, the source said.
Several bodies were seen scattered near the building, while U.S. and Iraq forces cordoned off the scene, he added.
Ambulances and rescue teams continue removing debris from the destroyed buildings and looking for more victims, he said.
