Two soldiers of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were killed in southern Afghanistan, an ISAF statement said Thursday.
The soldiers were killed during a patrol on Wednesday, the statement said, adding one interpreter was also killed and another soldier as well as two journalists injured.
The statement did not tell which province it occurred and the soldiers' nationalities, but Canadian defense ministry said the soldiers were Canadians.
About 37,000 ISAF soldiers are being deployed in Afghanistan to fight militants and keep security.
Due to rising Taliban violence, over 3,900 persons have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
