Three Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers were lightly wounded overnight during an operation in a refugee camp in the West Bank city of Nablus, Israel Radio reported on Thursday.
Palestinian militants hurled makeshift explosives and grenades at the IDF troops in the Ein Beit Ilma refugee camp and injured three soldiers, who were taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva.
Meanwhile, the IDF arrested seven wanted militants overnight across the West Bank, one near Ramallah, and six others south of Hebron, according to the report.
Early Thursday, three Hamas militants were wounded in an Israeli Air Force strike as they approached Israeli troops in the southern Gaza Strip.
Hamas said their militants were monitoring the movement of IDF near the town of Khouza, east of Khan Yunis, when they were targeted by an Israeli drone. The IDF confirmed that it targeted the gunmen after they got close to troops on the ground.
Israeli troops frequently enter Gaza for brief operations to target militants and thwart rocket attacks on Israeli towns.
In response to the IDF's operation in Gaza and West Bank, a spokesman for Palestinian National Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday criticized Israel for "escalation, the killing crimes and the assassinations against the Palestinian people."
He said the peace process could not advance and yield any results as long as Israel "continues with this policy."
