Israeli troops on Friday night killed four Palestinians in two separate incidents in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem and in northern Gaza Strip, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.

Israel Radio quoted an army spokesman as saying that Israeli soldiers stationed on the borders with northern Gaza opened fire at two Palestinians who approached the fence and shot them dead.

The identity of the two Palestinians hasn't yet known.

Local witnesses said they heard several gunshots Israeli soldiers had fired near the borders.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers shot dead an Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militant and an 11-year-old boy in the village of Seida, north of Tulkarem, Palestinian medics and witnesses said.

The witnesses said that several Israeli armored vehicles and dozens of Israeli soldiers stormed the village and besieged the home of Islamic Jihad militant Sedeeq Ouda.

An Islamic Jihad militant called Ziad Melhem, 22, and a boy called Mahmoud Qirnawi, 11, were killed during the clashes erupted in the village between several militants and Israeli soldiers, said the witnesses.

Palestinian medics at Tulkarem hospital confirmed that two bodies of a boy and an adult were received, adding that they were informed by the village residents that another child was injured and was taken by Israeli soldiers for treatment.

Following the death of the two, residents in the village threw stones at the soldiers, who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas. There were no injuries in both sides.
