Israeli troops killed at least four Palestinians, including a 11-year-old boy, during two clashes with militants in Gaza and West Bank on Friday, witnesses and Palestinian officials said.
Two Palestinians were killed when they opened fire at a Israeli border patrol in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday evening, according to the witnesses.
An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the shootout, saying that a unit on patrol along the border at the northern Gaza Strip responded and killed the two Palestinians when the patrol "came under fire".
In another case in northern West Bank, Israeli troops killed two Palestinians, including an 11-year-old boy, when they moved into Saida village in search of wanted militants, which sparked a firefight, Palestinian officials said.
The boy was identified as Mahmoud Ibrahim Karnawi, who was shot dead after Israeli troops tried to arrest his older half-brother, a wanted Islamic Jihad militant, but came under fire as they approached the family's home, according to the sources.
The boy was inside the home at the time of the shooting and hit in the crossfire, they added.
